Though I don’t regularly attend any church, one of the most welcoming churches I have ever been into has been a local church here in Savannah, Overcoming By Faith, headed by Pastor Ricky Temple. His wife Diane is leader of the praise group, their son RJ has his own puppet and music ministry, and their daughter Christina, who, along with her mother, is going to be heading up some of the new ministries that they are expanding to the west coast. They really are a focused and energetic family, and you can’t help but be in a little bit better mood just for being around them. They truly exude everything that they teach, and on a very connectable level, which I think is really great for a family-headed ministry.
I’ve had the opportunity to photograph the Temple family on a few occasions: once before for publicity shots, once for Christina’s senior pictures, and (honorably) I had the opportunity to photograph RJ’s beach wedding to his beautiful wife Monica. So I was excited that, once again, our schedules could match up to work on more updated publicity shots for the Temples.
