Something has been on my heart lately, and I really feel like I should share it with the readers of my blog, and just for everyone in general. Feel free to share this advice.
I take pictures. That’s self-evident. What’s not so obvious is how many people get nervous to get their photos taken, and want to put it off for a later date.
What I feel is important is to let you know this: love yourself today. Your photos don’t have to be perfect. You don’t have to look like you did when you were 20. But if today is the best you will look for the rest of your life, you will be happy you did the pictures. And if you look better next year or 5 years from now, then you can look back at these photos and say “Look at how far I’ve come!” And if you look just the same in 10 years, then I’ve done an accurate job of portraying you. And, if nothing else, someday you WILL love your photos. Someday, you’ll be old and wrinkled, and you won’t care so much about losing that last 15 lbs, or whether or not you got an extra line near your eye last week. Your frizzy hair will make you laugh. And you’ll only care that you got photos taken with people that you loved that loved you back.
And I want you to love who you are now. Because who I see through my lens is beautiful. Not 10 years ago, not 20 pounds ago. Right. Now.

Thanks for this. I struggle with this so much. Its a work in progress…thats for sure!
