Emily U. Headshots

I’ve had a lot of repeat clients from a few years back when I did headshots for pretty much the entire performing arts department for SCAD here in Savannah. Emily is one of those people, and this time she’s a few years older, and needed to update from her old headshot so that she could start auditioning when she graduates. Here are some of our favorites from Emily’s shoot.

Baby Max

I had the rare opportunity to be in the room when my friends Tim and Nicky welcomed their newest baby boy was born this February. They are a very strong, loving family, blessed with a wonderful teenaged boy who helps us out at our house when we ask him to, and two of the most well behaved twins you’ve ever met. This also being a military family who has to see Tim leave to protect us and his country on a regular basis. It’s hard not to be completely inspired when you hang around them. That, and the fact that somehow Nicky has enough time to make sure everyone has hot food, a bath, and a spotless house before the end of the night.

When they went into labor, they called me right away, since the twins were delivered very fast nearly 3 years ago. I was only there a couple of hours before Max showed up. He was a big boy, and he came very quickly (as anticipated). He joins his loving mom, dad, two older brothers and a sister, as the newest blessing to their family.:)Enjoy some of these photos, as well as some of his newborn photoshoot at home.

The Hess Family: Christmas and Maternity

We just moved into a new neighborhood this year, and one of the perks is having great neighbors like Adam and Stephanie. They have a little boy that is a little older than Constance, and they are due any day with their little girl. They are a Mary Poppins family of parenting, since somehow they both work and are able to come home and spend time with their son, who, may I add, is the smartest little boy his age that I know. He potty trained super early, he has been able to count, do colors, animals, and all that jazz since he was less than two. And he’s a GOOD boy. So I can only assume his parents are superheroes. Anyhow, here are my favorites from their shoot.

Lily and Bryce: Autumn in Downtown Savannah

Referred by her sister Carmel, Lily told me that she was getting married in late fall in Whitfield Square downtown. Of course I was excited (fall is my favorite season). Though it was rainy up til the day of the wedding, on the actual day it was completely beautiful. I met her at the Mansion on Forsyth for her last-minute touches, and followed her carriage ride to the ceremony location where the rest of the family (and the groom, Bryce) were waiting. After a quick ceremony (exactly as they had hoped), we waved goodbye to their officiant who rode off into the sunset on his scooter. It was awesome.

With the last hour of the sun, I joined them on a couples carriage ride (plus a photographer, but I was probably not even noticeable, haha), and then we headed back to the square for some family photos. Following that, I accidentally gave them bad directions to our next location for photos, but it all worked out, and we got some awesome shots walking around downtown before they left me to head to their reception.

Congrats Lily and Bryce! Here are some of my favorites:

Love LOOOOVE this shoot!! Love the retro 50 s of it. These photos make me feel like evyeithrng in life is going to be just fine. The couple doesn’t have that traditional drop-dead-gorgeous look to them but something way more special they look so naturally beautiful and relaxed-in-each-other. Like best friends who love each other and will grow old beautifully. Mmmm makes me happy.
